"Out Loud" tells the story of a girl who struggles to express herself and feels intimidated by her smooth-talking S.O. The song begins with soft uncertainty and transforms into outright frustration, escalating by the final chorus. I’ve performed this song on stage with my band, The Hobgoblins, at Oberlin College—the last time we played “Out Loud” was at a gig opening for Indigo De Souza. I'm releasing a music video alongside the single, which was shot at an abandoned building in rural Ohio.

When I’m driving in my car, I’m practicing a speech to give you when I get home, but I don't practice what I preach.

It sounds smarter in my head. All the things I want to say. When I open my mouth, your hair might be gray.

I’ve never been afraid of crowds; never scared of anyone. When I look you in the eye, I kinda wanna run.

If I don’t bite my tongue, what just might spill out? Will I ruin everything if I ever talk out loud?

You're so good at stringing together sentences.
You speak your mind so fine and nothing in it's senseless.
Where did you learn to talk so good? Were you maybe born like that? You talk the way I think I should. I don’t how to do that.
